Best way to get hd video on xbox 360

I've been downloading a lot of hd rips, mostly of my favorite tv shows (mkv). What's a good way to get these onto my xbox? It doesn't have to be streamed, I'm ok with burning to dvdr - but what can I do to minimize conversions and get the best quality possible?

Install TVersity on a PC that's connected to the same network your xbox is on. It's pretty self explanatory once it's on there.
