I will be in vegas next week.. Never been there so I am pretty excited.

What is the best way to get free drinks, shows, etc..

What are good shows to see? What should I do while I am there? I am taking my wife, so no hooker talk, does not interest me.

Free stuff? Contact the tourism board; they'll send you coupons.
Pick up all the tourist pamphlets you see. Those have coupons.
Check at Las Vegas tourist websites. More coupons.

Every casino has an incentives/points program and will often give you stuff to join.
Spending money gambling will get you bonuses from the pit bosses and slot hosts.

Best shows:
Cirque Du Soleil "O" ($110 / seat)
Cirque Du Soleil "Mystere" ($65? / seat)
Blue Man Group ($90 / seat)

going out there for pleasure or job interview? :)

goodbye helpdesk?

Honestly, I've never been, but gamble enough at the casinos and you get free food, rooms, perks, etc.

Um, really though, about the free stuff... you get free drinks when you gamble -- IT'S ONLY WORTH IT IF YOU ORDER SOMETHING BOTTLED (beer/cooler/smirnoff ice), otherwise your drink will be watery, nasty, and not worth the buck tip you'll be laying out to the cocktail waitress.

Most casinos have greeters and promotion associates that pretty much stalk you and offer you free stuff to sign up for their rewards/points clubs and they give you a card to stick in the slot machines to track how much of a high rollah you are -- I say go for it, most of the time they'll send you coupons for cash (like five bucks) or free buffets. If you don't get accosted by someone right away, ask where the REWARDS center is, I think every casino has a rewards center where you can sign up for their cards/stuff.

There are these free magazines in every lobby that have coupons for restaurants and attractions, grab some of those and you may save on admissions/entrees/drinks.

Also, if you go to smaller casinos, they have reasonable drink prices and steak n eggs for less than $5.

Have fun :)

Get Player's Club card from each Casino, sometimes one card work for a few casinos. The more points you get, the more free stuff. When you play at table games, give the deal your player's club card, they'll give it to those people in the suits. They keep track of how much you put down and how long you play.

You can try the $20/$50 trick and maybe you can get a free suite upgrade. It worked for me at the Aladdin, my bf said "This is my first time here with my gf, can you do anything to make this trip more memorable?" Next thing you know, we got a free suite upgrade from $20. Usually $20 only gets you a nice view room and $50 gets you an upgrade. Most people just put money inbetween their credit card and id with the money sticking out and ask "can you check if there's any suites availabe" Once they see the money, they'll get the hint. They'll either deny you or give it to you. Don't use this trick on a busy weekend, most likely they're already full.

Go towards the older casino's like Flamingo, and Tropicana. They always have free stuff. At the Tropicana they were doing this thing called "pay $20 but play $50" and if you dont win anything you get to pick a prize. I got a his & her watch.

The old Strip always have things to give away from drawings every 30 minutes to free slot play.

Hope this helps.

drinks are free while you gamble at the tables. also, my buddy bet $500 on one hand and didn't win and within a few minutes a guy in a suit came around and comp'ed him a meal for him and the 10 of us who were there for his bachelor party.

so i think if you spend big money they start to comp you.

Has some times and prices on shows and stuff among other things. If you are into Jazz the end of May they have a free Jazz festival you can attend.

you have to go see mac king at harrah's, he is a magican/comedian. Not sure if he is still there, saw him 2 yrs ago. He is cheap too, you can usually find some 2 for 1 or buy a drink for 7$ and see the show for free coupon around. highly recommended! I am going to vegas in 2 weeks too!
