Best way to get a Wii U

There are a few games that I want to play, but I'm having a hard time paying full retail for a system that will soon be EOL. What's the best/safest way to get one and should I be concerned with an used unit?

You can watch ebay until one hits a price point you want.

I bought a new one with physical copies of Mario 3D world / Nintendo land for $220 six or so months ago.

There are lots of used ones with multiple games (you could resell if you didn't want them). You just need to make sure the controller isn't messed up which seems to be the biggest issue.

Do you use wallapop or offerup apps? I've seen some good priced wii u consoles on there, but they're usually used, but can check them out before buying if local.

I bought it new from eBay with Mario 3d bundle for $250. But I bought it during eBay Bucks 5X promotion so I got $25 back so the final price was $225. Nintendo will sometimes list refurbished units on eBay for little over $200 but not often.

Alright alright I give in, I couldn't restrain myself any longer:

1) go to store
2) put money on counter
3) take Wii U home

All good except for finding the best price on a used unit. Not looking for new unless it's within $50 of the best used price.

Fellow Golden Flash here!

I was able to get one off Craigslist 2 weeks ago for a friend (also a Kent State alum) that was the Mario Maker bundle sold at Target for $299. I got Mario Maker, Windwaker and New Super Mario U installed on the internal hard drive. He also had purchased 8 additional SNES games, mainly RPGs. He listed the system for $250, I offered $225 and he bit. When I arrived, he mistakenly listed that it had Mario Kart 8 installed, which it did not. He knocked $25 more off, for a total of $200. The system was MINT. The controller even felt new (mine is very worn). Talk about a steal.

If you're not in a hurry, there are great deals to be had on Craigslist. Always contact them and ask what's the absolute least amount you would take for it. Sometimes, you'll be surprised.
