I'm with sharkeeper on this, boot from the WinXP CD and have it format then make additional partitions if desired of NTFS or FAT32 in XP after the install.
That's what worked for me, worked very well I might add.
just put the OS on a seperate partition and then do whatever you want with the rest of the space. I say 10 or so GB for the os and application you install
There is no need to low level format the drive. Just grab a win me boot disk and use the fdisk and format utilities off that. You can use a win98 boot disk if you want also. It will not show the numbers being correct in either case, but it will format to 120GB. I just did mine, so I can assure you it works. I wouldn't use the wd software unless you really want to, it is just as easy the other way. Good luck.
