The only people that hate S. Florida are those that can't afford to live here...most of them are from Texas

Used to live there it sucked (south FL)...:p Other than the bales that floated up on the beach...

Really was doing pretty good but got bored with sand, blue hairs & natives & semi-natives... Hell like 60% of the population are Snowbirds (Geritol Junkies)

West coast was pretty good but the East coast really sucked...

This really does belong in OT not here so back to the OP`s subject k...

Just to set it straight where I work we sometimes drain extremely large cooling systems and of course catch all that we can and normaly soak up the rest with floor dry... We have info on refill capacities so we mix accordingly and use tap water but always use a conditioner additive and most of our equipment has a water filter on the engine with a neutralizer built in... The additive is a requirement for any warranty work and for certain sample intervals (we sample every fluid at every 1000hr mark)... Takes awhile to put 1000hrs on a machine but we change every fluid at that interval along with every filter... It keeps them running and working for a long time without issue... Have one machine with 44,000hrs on it right now still working every day and it replaced a machine with well over 120,000hrs on it... The Wixcool I mentioned is the public version of what we use in our engines...

Actually in most parts of the US this is the way you do do it.

To others. Corrosion inhibitors are not usually designed to handle very hard water. The Dex-Cool packaging doesn't say tap water is ok. More than likely your owner's manual may.

They just state water.

For most it's not so much an issue, but in higher mileage cars it's turning out the effects of poor cooling system maintenance is taking it's toll now that almost everyone is on-board with oil changes regularly.

could be. I will try and check tonight, but will likely forget again :whiste:
