best way to find MAC addresses of all PCs on my network ??

I'm looking at about 20 PCs.

I want to enable static internal IPs issued via DHCP on the firewall and I need the MAC addresses of each PC.

Is there an easy way to do this from my PC or the WIN2K server ???

Yes- Ping them, then look at the ARP table. "arp -a" from the command line. Your DHCP server should show it, too.

Superscan4 is good. I like freeware.

I also downloaded and tried LANview 1.5 from JXDev.

They both are pretty good in the few minutes that I've played with them, but Superscan is free and LANView only has a 15 day trial. Superscan also generates a pretty html page with all IP addresses, MAC addresses and ports being used.

Thanks gunrunnerjohn.

Download this free Proggie, unzip and Run (nothing to install). Wait a little and it will tell you these little things that are important to Local Network (including the MAC number).

TCP Network View

Disable all firewalls before you use these "gadgets".
