The wife and I are going to be purchasing a new vehicle soon and we have it down to a 03 or 04 4runner or honda accord ex-L V6.

I have been shopping for either one of these vechiles and have come across a handful of new 04 toyota 4runners SR5 that are clean and have roughly 15 to 25000 miles on them

Usually I go to edmunds to check what I should be paying on a used vehicle...but they don't have data on used vechiles that are less than a year old.

What is a good way to accurately guesstimate a price I would offer on this vehicle. A couple of weeks ago I offered a dealer mid 25's for one and he said he couldn't go lower....

Then I looked at edmunds for what a brand spankin new one should cost and it was mid 28's...same everything, I would think that the vehicle would depreciate a little with 15,000 miles on it ?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Split the difference between a two year old models average selling price and the invoice price of a brand new one.

now do you try to consider that a vehicle looses more value in the first year vs the second year or is that a wrong way of looking at it ? I was under the assumption that you loose more the first year although I could be wrong :)

I went to edmunds and for a 03 4runner SR5 w/ 16000 miles on it and the basics it suggests around 24,900 for the asking price
