I've got this baseball cap, its really bright blue, would washing it fade the color? Or would using it in a washer/dryer destroy the hat? What about leaving it in a tub of warm water with soap in it? What do you guys think, anyone actually domestic?

Let it sit in the sun for a bit, or wear it a lot. Washing it in cold or hand washing shouldn't fade the color too much, but washing it in warm would probably mess it up.

Don't dry it in the dryer too, it'd probably shrink too much.

wash it with 1 cap full of liquid purex, and 1/2 cup clorox,in a full washer,in hot water
add bleach, and liquid detergent First, then water, and wait till th washer is at least 1/2 full before putting in the cap.

Dishwasher, (add a hint of bleach or a few squirts of clorox cleanup) , dry it in direct sunlight and let it sit in direct sunlight whenever you have a chance.
