Best way to extend fan wire for Rheobus?

I have some untailed Panaflos that I want to connect to my Rheobus, but the wires that came with it are too short. I bought some 22AWG wire from Radio Shack to extend the wires.

What is the best way to connect the two wires together? I don't have a soldering iron with me at the moment and I was wondering if I could do a ghetto mod and sort of twist the two end strands together and then wrap the connection together with electrical tape. Will that be able to hold a stable current or will I end up electricuting myself?

thanks in advance.

The ghetto method should work fine. Just make sure you twist them together nice and tight and that you cover up the bare wire with electrical tape or heat shrink tubing.

Thanks for all your help... I'll test it out the ghetto way and then later if I need to, I'll solder them together... I'll also look into that crimp on connector...
