doubling the hourly rate should give you a rough estimate for annual salary.

Depends on how many hours the salary is based on.

Mine is based on a 45 hour week so it works differently that what you gave.

Mine = rate x 45 x 52

If you are on a salary then you might want to find out if you are Exempt or Non-Exempt and the conditions therin.

Technically, for full-time work Hourly*2080.

I usually just take the hourly and double it to get the salary, because in most hourly jobs you won't always hit 40 hours exactly (and overtime won't make up for it). So $17 per hour is 17x2=34 or $34k per year.

Only if the vacation is unpaid. Should be hourly x 2080.

What about overtime?? Or if you're a consultant and you're getting paid $200/hr for the next month for a project but then have nothing else lined up for the rest of the month. :p

Either way, hourly x 2K is what I do for a rough estimate.

After some careful calculations, my salary came out to be about tree fiddy; not enough,
