I'd assume there's something much better than trying to use google online to edit contact which is really slow and laborious.. Want something quick that I can use on my loacal machine to edit via regular size keyboard, etc...

Thanks for your help. I appreate the link but I'm not sure how that helps me. I have ~500 contacts that are now on my S3 from a port over from a BB.

The problem is that I need to edit each contact so that I can say the name of the contact using S-Voice and have it understand me. Thus, I'm looking for an application that I can install on a PC to upload the contacts, massage them as needed and then dump them back top the phone.

I tried uploading a .vcf file to google and editing online but that's dreadfully slow. There's got to be a better way... Looking for it...

It's an android phone, so the contacts will automatically sync to your GMail contact (of the Google ID you use on the phone). The reason for the link is that you can just edit them on the web from your computer. Did you try clicking on that link using a computer?

Unless I'm the one who's missing something here.

i have a feeling that the newer samsung phones default to adding contacts to the local phone address book, and not to your google account.

Anyone with common sense would use the link the second poster linked (assuming they have a google account synced to their phone), editing so many contacts from a PC is much easier than from the phone itself.

You can export your contacts from google in a spreadsheet, make the corrections in the spreadsheet, then import the corrected contacts.

Even if it did, you can sync the contacts to your Google account and edit via methods mentioned here.
