Okay, I'm going to Canada with a couple friends tonight to have some fun. I already know that I'm going to be driving there and back with 3 other people in my car, but I at least want to have a couple while I'm there. Anyone got any suggestions for me other than time? Oh yeah... I'm still a rookie drinker too.

If you're driving, don't drink. Stupid.
There are some things you sacrifice by being a designated driver. If you have to "have a couple" then have someone else drive.

And if 1-2 drinks messes you up, it goes for you DOUBLE.

We're going to be over there for at least 4 hours... Plus there's also the fact that I wouldn't let anything happen to my $17K baby. One or two drinks can't screw me over too badly.

You'll sit on Wyandotte St. in traffic for a few hours waiting to get back through the tunnel. Last time I went to canada we left the club at 2:30 and didn't get through the tunnel until 4:30. That should be enough time to sober up if you've only had a few drinks.

You people suck. Having a few drinks and driving is fine if you can control your vehicle, if you cant, then its not fine. Just because you people are complaining doesnt mean people will stop. People drink and drive, do all sorts of drugs and drive, and not to mention SLEEPY people drive too. All of these people are a risk if you are having trouble handling your car, but if you can handle it, more power to you.

If he can control his car, he can control his car - dont badger him about him drinking and driving.

Just drink early on a full stomach and let yourself sober up for about an hour by not drinking any alcohol and just water. Thats usually all it takes for me..

You can have 1 or 2 drinks. I would stay away from liquor or any of those Smirnoff Ice type beverages. Mostly it depends on your weight. Go here to get an idea of what you can drink. Though I would drink 1 less than whatever number it turns up. If you drink that one beer and start to feel it, I wouldn't have another. Stay safe.

edit: Oh yeah, have your drinks at the beginning of the evening and use the rest of the time to start sobering up. Doing stuff like dancing will help. The breathing process by itself helps to sober you up, so breathing hard does it faster.

Buy *1* beer(in a bottle, no glass/mug) and either make it last 4 hours(drink slowly) or when it's gone, drink Coke, 7Up, or some other non-alcoholic beverage. Remember, you're going to Canada, there's no sissy beer here. :)

If you drink about 1 serving per hour, you'll keep your alcohol level under 0.8%. So I suggest drink 2 max beers in the first hour, and then nothing.

It depends on how tolerant you are though. I get disoriented after about 8-10 servings :)

don't forget their beer contains more alcohol. keep that in mind. either way, 2 beers in 4 hours is fine even if you're a lightweight.

If you're going to drive, don't drink! And even if you do, pray you don't get pulled over.

I'm not a big fan of drinking and driving but if you are going to do it do this...

Have maybe a beer or two over the four hours and then right before you leave order a coke with grenadine.
