Best way to do PC -> TV

Ok, so here is the deal. I have a geforce 7600GT graphics card with dual DVI out and TV out. I also have a HD LCD TV that has a HDMI input on it. I am wondering if I should connect the graphics card to the computer using the TV-out (which would be component video), or if I should get a DVI to HDMI cable and run the TV with that. I don't even know if the second option is viable, so that is another question I guess.

I'd say run it via a DVI->HDMI converter or a DVI->HDMI cable. Although this solution will not provide audio to the TV.
 
I would say go for component. The difference between a good set of component cables and a DVI link is miniscule if best. Component cables also give you the capability to do a long cable run, whereas DVI is very limited.

Don't get suckered into the whole HDMI thing. It's EXACTLY the same as DVI -just a different physical connector. If your TV only has HDMI in, and you don't care about cable length then get an adapter and use that. Get the adapter/cable online though. Retail stores will bend you over and forcibly insert with no lube. 😀

One less D-A conversion can't hurt things, but it doesn't make that much difference.

Thanks for the information. I decided to go with the DVI to HDMI cable as I could get one off of Ebay for like 20 bucks (for a 25 foot one too, as I do have to do a long run). Hopefully I can get everything to work out, and hopefully the cable isn't a POS.
