Best way to do dual monitor support?

I have a Dell Dimension 4500 with a Radeon 9700, connected DVI to a Dell 2001FP. I am getting a new LCD from work and I want to connect it as well. I know I can do it through my Radeon but only with an analog connection. I was wondering if I could just add a cheap vid card with a DVI connection if that would work. Will my Radeon continue to be my 'master' card for games and such? Will it matter if the second card is a geforce as far as graphics is concerned? Does anyone have a recommendation for cheap card if this is the route to take?

Are you saying put a second card in a PCI slot? If so, I'm not sure if dual cards can work that way

But if you get a card with dual outputs, that would work.

You can set in the bios which card you want it to default to. If you only have an agp card, leave it set on PCI just incase something goes wrong. In you case though, change it to AGP and it should make your 9700 the default (and I guess "master") card.

I would get a new AGP card but I'd really rather not invest more money in a system that I will probably replace in a year. But a cheap PCI card could be sold on Ebay in a year for not much less then what I buy for it today. I just want to make sure that it will work...
