Best way to do 2x160GB PATA RAID0

I have 2 160GB PATA drives that I want to use for a RAID setup. Right now, I have all my data on a 250GB SATA drive. I also have 2 optical drives. Should I put both of the HDDs on the same IDE channel, or put them as masters on separate channels? I assume once I get the RAID set up I can just run Norton Ghost to copy my 250 gig over...

I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think you can use Ghost to copy your 250g drive to the raid0 setup. Unless if your mobo or raid controller lets DOS use it like a normal ide controller.

For my raid0 setup, I have a dedicated Promise PCI controller card. I put both drives on individual channels on the card. I also have a 120g drive hooked to my mobo for data storage, and two optical drives on the mobo.

For your setup, I think you should put each drive on a different channel on the mobo. Then install the OS. Then later plug in the 250g drive and pull off the data you need through the OS, since I don't think Ghost will work. Then assuming you only have 2 ide channels you need to remove the 250g and plug in both optical drives.
