Help me. These hiccups are annoying.

pinch your nose with your index fingers, put a thumb in each ear and use the remaining fingers to pick up a glass of water and drink it. All at the same time. It works. Seriously.
Similar here. If I just focus on consistent breathing, I rarely experience more than 5 hiccups; usually they're gone in just two. But I only get them maybe 2-3x a year.Originally posted by: Kadarin
I do it by relaxing, shutting out distraction as best as possible, and then focusing on taking deep slow breaths.

This works for me everytime and I haven't seen anyone suggest it - take a plastic bag and breathe out into it, then breathe in (from the plastic bag), etc. So basically you're inflating/deflating the bag with each breath. Don't take a breath of fresh air. I remember being told hiccups are caused by an imbalance of carbon dioxide or some other atmospheric gas in your body, and this is something you can fix by "recycling" your breaths, essentially.
