best way to cure a sore throat?

Act like a man and quit whining about a little physical inconvenience. It will go away in a few days.
water. lots of water. drink hot beverages (with honey if you'd like) too if you have excess mucus in your throat.
Medications specifically for sore throats won't cure it, they are nothing more than acetaminophen (Tylenol) to reduce the pain that you feel with a sore throat while you allow time to help it heal.
Vitamins will help boost your immune system to fight the virus thats causing the sore throat.
If you have a bacterial infection of the throat, then go to your doctor and they can determine if an antibiotic is necessary(of course you'd need to go to the doctor in the first place to determine if it were a bacterial infection).
If the sore throat lasts longer than 5 days, or the discomfort increases tremendously, or there is very excesssive mucus builup, then go see a doctor as soon as possible.

What if his job is something that requires using voice? Not good to have a sore throat then. I personally know that I never sing a concert if I feel my throat dying.
Anyway, I drink some hot honey lemon water, and then for the next few days drink as much warm water as possible.
gargle with warm water ( i personally dont like salt in the water so i just gargle with plain warm water ) every 15-20 min.... it cured my sore throat in 2 days.....

have hot milk with a pinch of tumeric and honey.
make sure the milk is hot, cold honey will bloat you.
