Best way to connect a RAID

Is it best to use the primary and secondary bus connections on the motherboard or is it faster to go primary and slave with one cable?

I'm thinking 2 cables 2 drives 2 connections to the motherboard would be faster. Am I wrong?

If I have to drives of different sizes can I setup a RAID and it would just be the smallest drive size?

This is all eide.

Thanks

Fastest would be 1 drive to each IDE channy, no slave stuff..... 😉 (You're correct)

RAID will set up and run according to the smallest/slowest drive in the array........
