I recently bought myself a new monitor, L227 WTG and I am thinking about getting a 360 and connect it to the monitor as well. I currently use connect my computer to the monitor with a DVI cable. What would be the best way to connect the 360 to it as well? I am thinking about either getting a vga cable off monprice or get a dvi switch and use a hdmi to dvi cable and connect both my pc and 360 to the dvi slot. Which method would gave me the best picture quality?

Using HDMI to DVI will avoid unnecessary D/A and A/D conversions, so in theory it will provide the best picture.

VGA is probably cheapest. The difference between vga and HDMI/DVI with your 360 will be about the same as the difference between VGA and DVI on your computer. Is there a noticeable difference in video quality when you connect your computer via VGA?

The VGA adapter is the best bet. I use it for both my monitor and projector, and the quality is insane. I use the genuine Microsoft one, I had a cheap knock off and had terrible ghosting and lag. They're about $30.

Where does component fit into all this? That's what I use now. Would a switch to HDMI or VGA be worth it? I have a 32" 720p TV.
