Reading the new one now.

And for those not enlightened. The company is a Legion company. They blowup the obstacle course, capture the guy firing the machine gun over their heads, cut the ropes on one part to use on another, and ever thing else you can think of to get the whole company through the course.

Seriously it depends on weather or not your jump can reach the top. If you can reach the top with your hands after a good leap then you're out of luck as far as momentum is concerned. A quick way to get down is to lay your chest on the top of the fence and swing your legs over the side - an alternative to squatting on top and jumping off or riding it horsey style.

Last time I tried this, I ran and when I got to the fence I jumped into it , but my feet didnt get a grip on any of the fence holes to use my legs to push up. So I had to drop down and step into the fence, grab on to the top and pull up and over...

I never would have though to try to use the force of the internet to get over the fence

I'm bored at work...

Are you just jumping this for the crap of things or are you doing this for a reason? Military or Police? What? You should be wearing a decent boot to do this, that will help with your grip. Don't try to get a toe in there, lift your knee and put a flat foot on the fence when you grab on.

Print that out and bring it to the fence for review.

6 foot wire? Is it stiff wire or very flimsy? If it's stiff wire and only 6 feet tall you should be able to get a slight run and jump so that you hips/gut pretty much get on top of the fence, then just slide over and twist so you land on your feet. Unless you are really out of shape.

hope they are skate shoes.. run at it and jump for the top. grab the top with both hands, one foot flat against the fence, the other foot already creating momentum to get over. watch jackie chan or better yet david belle.

When you run to the fence, lead with your 'natural' foot as you jump. Do a toe jam into the links and a grab on top. IF the links point up, actually finger grap the links and not the top. If you can wear full gloves, you can grap the top. The foot plant will give you a pivot point to put the inside edge of the opposite shoe on the top. Pull with that top foot to get clearance while oppose with your hands. Flop over.

On the other hand, if you have never practiced this. Stop and scale. ;)

Is this chain link? If so, then the key is to jam your toe into one of the diamond shaped openings securely. That means twisting your foot at a 45° angle as your jam it into the fence. You'll then have 1-2" of your foot on the other side of the fence which is more than enough support to spring yourself over or at least lift your shoulders over it so you can pull yourself up and over.

I ended going with stepping into the fence with my left leg and pulling myself over. Saw some people just jump into the fence and boom over... I played it safe. Some guy jumped and was over and all sudden slipped and bam flipped over; he was ok.

Now, if you practice every day, the next time you do it 5 years from now, you can do it Jackie Chan style. No hands, 3 steps using the pole on the side, over. For extra points, add a side flip dismount. ;)

no

Normal wire fence and the top is sligtly padded so you dont get hurt. Can't go around, can't cut the fence etc etc.

6ft? easy stuff, just run at it with good speed (obviously not full out sprint, have good balance on approach) put your hands on top of it and jump while pullin yourself over. you should get atleast one foot over while the other hooks in somewhere pretty high

if the fence is sturdy enough... wall kick :) kick off the fence, propelling yourself upwards. grab the top and pull yourself over.

Well you are all nervous, the fence is the first part of this obstacle course. You also have to do this with a bullet vest on and a strap around your waist to simulate carrying a gun and other stuff.
