Could someone please help me on this. I have a Logitech Optical Mouse that I got for my birthday in March 2001. Over time it got dirty. I just got a new one about a week ago and I want to know how to clean it so it doesn't get dirty over time like my old one did. How often should I clean my mice? I also would like to know how to clean a keyboard and how often it should be done. Even though my old mouse got dirty, it still was working, but I assume a mouse and keyboard being dirty still is not healthy for them so that's why I should start learning how to clean them. I am looking for a safe and effective method to clean them without danger of breaking the mice and keyboards I have. Help greatly appreciated.

well... I used to own a white logitech optical, and I only brushed it clean ocassionally and swiped the grime between the top-bottom shell that held the mouse together. Not much cleaning is needed on a optical mouse...(They did advertised that you didn't have to clean it like the old skool ball mouse).

If you feel up to it... you can easily unscrew the screws in the mouse, pop it open and use some cottom swabs to rub over dirty parts. It DOES get awfully dirty inside...

P.S. Personally.. I would NEVER open my MX700... my beautiful MX700 will never get torn open
