Best way to clean DVD player?

The TV\VCR\DVD is about three years old, and it's having trouble playing DVD's it's been getting progressively worse and now it really sucks.

Wife is at class tonight, I have homework and wanted to put a DVD on for the girls, any suggestions on
A) a cleaner for the DVD that I can pick up at Fry's
B) a movie as good as Totoro. They LOVE Totoro.

A) no idea
B) Kiki's Delivery Service - done by Hayao Miyazaki, the same guy who did Totoro. My nieces LOVE Totoro and Kiki. I do too.
