I've been watercooled for going on 3 years now, Several times a year i've had to go in and clean out my entire system. Not quite sure what i'm doing wrong but I never see the type of algae buildup...or whatever it is like i see on my tubes. When i clean the system I use tap water, but I rinse it with distilled, and fill it with distilled. I also mix in some red line water wetter, as well as some anti-algae stuff I have for the family pond. Few drops of UV dye are added as well...but I'm not sure what else to try.

When i clean it out i am able to get almost all of it out. I use an old paintball barrel squeegee to clean the tubes out, and it works great, but the growth comes back in a few months.

I don't have pictures of it, i dont know how well they'd turn out. Am I missing a step?

If you see algae build up, the first thing I would recommend is checking your ratios. I know some people have posted their special recipes before, look for any post by Hardwarrior and I'm sure you'll find a bunch of nice posts on ratios. Or if you are lazy like me, just buy some Swiftech water additive. It was like $2.5 a bottle on www.svc.com. Or if you are even lazier, or completely broke, just put more algaecide in there. I would guess that a slightly abundant amount won't damage anything, unless you put in 50% algaecide and 50% water.

A couple drops of bleach does wonders.

Also, ditch the Tygon tubing. Mine stained like a table cloth at a wine tasting party. The clearflex is way better (and cheaper).
