Solvents can harm the anti-glare coating. I use soft tissue, sometimes moistened with water.

I use a mist of water on a soft cotton cloth then lightly clean the monitor. (I have heard bottled or filtered water is better though)

First, I would check out the manual or website for instructions. (call them even)

Ditto what the two peeps above me said--Windex or the like is a no-no, as it removes the anti-glare coating on your screen. If plain old water or soap-and-water doesn't satisfy you, then try something like EnDust, which is made for monitor screens.

He he, reading the manual is a clever thing...

<< Clean the screen with a soft cloth. If you use a glass cleaning liquid, do not use any type of cleaning liquid, do not use any type of cleaner containing anti-static solution or similar additive as this may stratch the screen's coating >>

<< Don not rub, touch, or taop the surface of the screen with sharp or abrasive items such as a ballpoint pen of screwdriver. This type of contact may result in a scratched picture tube >>

- Who on earth would do that? :Q

<< Clean the cabinent, planel and controls with a soft cloth lightly moistened with a mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring pad or solvent, such as alchol or benzene. >>

What about those wet/dry pads sold by this by catalog companies like Global? Any chance of harming the monitor surface. Well, they are made especifically for cleaning monitor screens.

If those are a type of monitor wipe, avoid at all costs--those things streak more than clean. They're totally useless.
