Best way to buy a domain name from someone ?

So let's say I make an offer to buy a domain name from someone who no longer uses said domain. They agree to sell it, so now what ? How do I ensure that it gets transferred to me after payment ? Is there a simple way to go about it, or is a broker needed to handle the transaction ?

You have 2 choices;

1) Trust that they won't screw you.
2) Use a domain escrow service which will charge you a small fee to ensure you receieve the domain.
