Best way to book multiple flights on one trip?

Just a questions for any seasoned travellers. My parents want to take off for about 3 weeks and hit up about 5 different cities. Here's the order they are in LAX --> Houston --> Atlanta --> Indianapolis --> Washington DC --> LAX.

I know the order is kinda wacky, but they're coordinating w/ other family members so that's the order that it most likely will have to be in. Would it be easier to just book 10 one way flights or should i go to a travel agent maybe? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

d3n is correct about the TSA people scrutinizing one-way ticket holding passengers quite closely. You agent (definitely go with one) should be able to get your a multiple-stop roundtrip ticket. Done stuff just like this before. Cheaper than a bevy of one-ways unless you're doing something like JetBlue or Southwest.

G'luck

Not even just TSA, last time I flew one way was on US Airways and they actually put a mark on my ticket which apparently means one way, from what I gathered from talking to two other people who got the same mark.

But yes, a multistop ticket is probably going to be the cheapest. You may save money by flying different carries but it's much easier to rebook if you just use one carrier.

Don't get a bunch of one-way flights. You'll spend a fortune. A travel agent can handle that trip easily.

Although you could do it yourself, it's nice to have a travel agent to call if something goes screwy during a complicated trip.

Yeah i guess you're right. Sorry D3n... but it's been a long night and it is about my parents so i'm pretty protective.

I guess a travel agent is the best thing to do. Sounds too complicated to do so many one way tickets.

Nothing personal. Good luck with the trip. Seems like fair advice on getting a multistop round trip. Not to thread hijack but whats the best way to get an agent. My experiance it seems like most are there to skim off the top with the least amount of work.

i like to look around online, and get an idea for prices. this way, if a travel agent is trying to rip me off, i'll know... i guess it's just a matter of shopping around.

Many AAA offices have travel agencies. You don't have to be an AAA member to use them.
