Buy.com has just screwed up. I ordered a product that wasn't backordered I made the order and when buy.com checked it's database it was backordered. I want repercussion!!!

What's the best way to ask for store credit or something similar?(without being too blunt):D

Call them up and ask to talk to the supervisor's supervisor's supervisor. Tell them that the order was very important and will not not arrive on time due to their mixup. That usually gets them going, but don't let them placate you by explaining that things like this happen, bla bla bla. If they can get away with it, they will.

LOL Electric Amish!

Sounds professional, calm but aggressive. Talk about how the value of the product will depreciate during your time of wait and how they wasted your time and money etc. Then demand for reparation.

Tell them that you knew better than use them ... you usually use their competitors .. but you wanted to try them once to give them a chance ... and looks like now you know why you have been using someone else and that now you will go back to using them ... that tends to have an effect ...

Does it really mean that much to you, or are you just taking advantage of them?

yea I'm really pissed now. I emailed them about the error and asked a few questions. I found out they sent me a generic email apologizing w/o answering most of my questions. This was determined because I sent the email out to 2 departments and I got the same exact email.

Tell them that you'd placed the order for little Timmy, who was clinging on to hope and life by a thread. But now thanks to their hideous real-time inventory system, Timmy has passed on and you won't be needing the item any more. Then mention a compensatory gift certificate or store credit would be about the only thing which would mean anything to litte Timmy's mother now, short of having him back among the living.
