Best way to apply for a job?

Which is the preferred method?

1. E-mail to jobs@company.com or hr@company.com

2. By creating an account with Monster, Dice and clicking the apply-online option.

3. Faxing.

4. Snail mail.

5. Going to the company's website and applying online through them.

Please share experiences using each of these methods or post additional methods.

I'd say go online and apply through the company. That's how I applied to the GFPD and I'm almost done with the process.

Unless you're certain that the company is hiring, don't bother posting your resume through a company's web site. The big companies just file them in a huge database, which often becomes so overfilled with outdated and worthless resumes that most managers never bother looking at it.

Know someone that works there. Any other way and your chances of success go way down.
