Best Wax $10 or less and best drying device $20 or less

Currently I use Meguiers cleaner wax

and I use the absorber for drying

Don't like the absorber because it has to be completely wet before it dries, and the wax isn't as smooth as I like. I have trouble applying it as well... suggestions?

california water blade works great for drying. and i use 3m waxes on my car. ifyou really want to detail, clay bar your car.

Excellent point. If your paint isn't glassy to the touch use a clay bar after the wash but before the wax. Then you'll get that smooth finish.

I have a water blade as well but have yet to use it. The Absorber is GREAT though🙂

Most of the time you should use a non-abrasive wax. Cleaner wax is for removing paint impurities and oxidization - a bit too abrasive for regular use unless you have a hard on for repainting.

I'm not really satisfied with the NXT. I've been using it for the past year maybe and it lasts no longer than the Deep Crystal Carnauba. Great shine though.

Every time I wash my car I top it off with NXT (wipe it off with a microfiber towel)... I hear good things about Mother's & Zaino Waxes, I never used them though. Four times a year (with each season change) I'll also claybar/paint clean/polish the car.

I like the NXT but I'll probably try the other waxes as well. As for drying, I use a combination of air blower to get in the crevices (make sure no rocks are near) and water blade... the combination works good for me.

i used nxt before i "upgraded" to zaino, nxt was easy to put on and buff off. i also use an absorber and works great. i read many good things about big waffle-weave microfiber towel for drying.

Agreed. For show car shine and protection you want the Meguires stuff in the tan bottles, not the purple ones.... They typically don't stock thost at target/walmart/etc but at kragen/autozone/pep boys.

I use turtle wax, didn't really know there were so many options. What's the difference between all of these waxes?

a month ago i did the dawn-clay-z7-z5-z6-z5-z6-z2 pro-z6-z2 pro-z6-z2 pro-z8 routine over two days on our new car. i was sore after it all, but was well worth it.

Excellent choice.

For towels, the best low cost ones are the Costco microfiber towels. I believe they're $8 for 12 of them. Just watch the seams and tags.

Except the Costco ones aren't waffle-weave. Those are what you really want.

At any rate, I'm switching over to sealant and buffer. Hand polishing is for those with too much time on their hands, pardon the pun😉

The Waffle weave are great for drying, but the Costco are reasonably competent all around towels. They're superior for buffing and windows, inferior for drying.

Heading to my local Costco soon. I'll try the NXT this weekend. It's 13 bucks at walmart, I need to look elsewhere. Wish they sold them in smaller sizes so you don't have to wait till you use it all before trying a new one.

OMG! please accept my apology. I read the thread title and thought you were talking about hair wax... i was gonna come in here and slap you.

😉 😛
