Best Watch Brand?

i'm looking for a new watch to replace my horrible fossil watch. I prefer it to be metal, shows date, last electronical as possible (i.e. preferably no digital watches), can't be fossil, and not more than $100.

Kenneth Cole makes good attractive metal watches. Check Ross they always have good watches at cut rate prices.

Rolex watches have been known to be somewhat attractive and accurate. They have even been known to appreciate over time rather than depreciate in value.

If you can't afford to go for real quality, though, perhaps a Timex would fit your needs.

Do you have a Rolex?

I've had my share of watches, had a fossil I loved but the damn thing would just stop working, then work out of the blue months later, damn watch.

Anyhow that fossil scratched all to hell and the glass would even scratch a bit. I got an Arnette watch from Watch Station that I have worn every day for a year without problems. The glass somewhat actually protrudes, but it doesn't seem to scratch the way that the Fossils do. Really a nice watch and I've gotten compliments from many people including my dental surgeon. He said he was looking into getting a new watch and then kind of looked at me funny when I didn't say it was some more expensive type or something.

Those are rebadged Geneva or Geneve watches that you can pick up for 1/2 the price of kenneth cole.

For less than $100, just go get a Timex. I have had two Fossil watches in the past and no way in hell would I ever spend money on one of them again.

Skagen makes some quite nice watches for under $100. They're overall look is similar to Movado, but without the massive price tag.

You can pick up a Seiko, Citizen, or ESQ, Bulova and many others for under 100 bucks

Yeah, please do give Fossil another shot.
I got my watch December 2000 and its still running strong.

some parts of the metal are a little worn, and of course there are scratches, but it's still ticking.
I only replaced the batteries once also, which was in Fall of 2003.

I'll put pics up soon...

EDIT PICS:
Fossil 1
Fossil 2

Yeah, I did some researching on Seiko, and I like um. I also like the Citizen Eco-Drive watches. If my fossil ever dies, it's probably going to be replaced by a Citizen ED

I want this Citizen.

I got a my g/f a Citizen EcoDrive and I personally have a titanium Seiko Kinetic. I would recommend either of those although you're going to spend a little more than $100 probably. One nice thing about the Citizen is it's obviously silent whereas my Seiko is not. You're going to spend more on a Seiko than a Citizen regardless so that's where my money would go if I were you.
