Best WAP for wifi connection to a wired network?

The existing network has DSL and a wired router with available ports. They want to add another computer but can't get a wire to it, so wifi will be needed.

I'd rather not mess with the existing wired router since I didn't have anything to do with setting it up, so I'm hoping someone could recommend a small, easy-to-configure, WAP to use. My idea is to plug the WAP into the available router port, put a USB wifi device on the remote PC, and be in business. So I started looking around at WAPs but the ones I found seem just as costly as a full-blown wifi router.

Networking isn't my strong point so if I'm way off base, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Wireless Access Points are usually much more expensive than Wireless Cable/DSL Router.

You can get a second Wireless cable DSL Router and use it as an Access Point
