I have been spending too much money on long distance phone calls, and want to know which is the best voice chat program to get.

Thanks

Thanks, I have tried Yahoo messenger and found that it is okay, but the popups are anoying. At the moment I'm trying out Skype & haven't been able to find someone to test it out with.

I use TeamSpeak. Works quite nicely.

There are both Windows and Linux clients.

Someone has to be running a server though, unless you use one of the publics.

Ventrilo is the best voice chat prog I've ever used. It has tons of configuration options, minimizes to the system tray and supports key forwarding (e.g., you can still talk while playing, say, BF1942). It's totally free, too. And the server is really easy to set up if you need to do so. And it's smaller than TeamSpeak. 🙂

Shame there's no Linux client though, otherwise I'd check it out.
