Best video player?

I really like the way iTunes handles music and wanted to get something that works similarly with video files. I've started using Winamp but it doesn't have support for MKV or OGM files which I have a lot of. VLC is what I use for these kinds of files but it doesn't have any media library or playlist functions. Is there a player out there that fills my needs? Thanks.

WMP11 with the CCCP codec Pack is my preferred way to do things on Windows.

VLC has playlists. Go to View -> Playlists... and you can create, save, and open playlists. Tis true is does not maintain a media library, but I keep all my media in one location, so that is not really necessary.

Thanks for the feedback. Tried the VLC playlist but it crashes and seems buggy. The WMP11 with CCCP seems better but although it lets me play MKV and OGM files, it doesn't list them in the library or playlists. Still it is an improvement so thanks for the help.

What version of VLC player are you using? I use the playlist all the time and have never had a problem.

GOM player is another option. Havent used it as a media library though(maybe it has the option maybe it doesn't). However it plays virtually everything that VLC does, and also has a little bit more options over some video files(like the ability to change the color and move subtitles). It also has a playlist feature which is easy to use.

You have to physically add them to the library I think, either through dragging, or File->Add(or is it import?)

Bear in mind that for the past year I have not had a dedicated windows box, so a lot of this advice is based on year-old knowledge.

I'm using the 8.6c version of VLC. Also, I noticed that I have to open the playlist every time I run VLC which is a pain compared to other players that keep the info saved. I tried to add the MKV files manually but no go.
