What do you think is the best video card for gaming? Is there any video card better for gaming than the 4X AGP GeForce 4 Ti 4600 for $172 or less? I found the XFS GeForce FX 5600 128 MB DDR 8X AGP on PriceWatch for $172. Is this card better for gaming than the GeForce 4 Ti 4600 4X AGP? Does the manufacturer of the card that uses the same NVIDIA chipset make a difference? I say this because NVIDIA does not actually sell their own video cards, they just make the chipset and sell it to video card manufacturers, am I right on this?

ATI Radeon 9800 if you have the money... Blows the competiton away..

9700 Pro

but for about 175 you can get a 9500 PRO overclock to 9700 speeds and have one hell of a card.

the 4200s are around $100 now and you can use coolbits and make it into a 4600, so in otherwords 4600 is waist of money. the ad in board makers for nvidia can greatly vary in memory types and even clockspeeds, so do research as you go along. dang, i wish hercules still made nvidia cards. the 5600/9700 may last you a lil while longer than the 4200 but by the time games come out that need a 9700/5600 we will be able to purchase the cards at $100. its a crazy mixed up world with these massive product cycels, the technology moves faster than the games.
