Why would you want to upgrade your video card if you don't play games?
Is the TV tuner all you wanted?

That is a tricky question. I know people who were able to get their AIW 9800's to work in MCE 2004, but with some effort. I don't know if it will work with MCE 2005 or not, to be honest. I only use the ATI software (MMC 9.06), which suits my needs fine.

P.S. Here are some links relating to MCE 2005 and ATI hardware compatibility:

Thanks so much for the info. I'm asking because I have purchased an OEM version of MCE 2005, and wanted to build a new system based on the AMD 64 chips. I am presently using a dated system I built 2 and a half yrs ago based on the P4 2.66 with the ATI AIW Radeon 8500 DV. I too am using an (albiet older) version of MMC on an Envision 19 inch LCD that is almost 2 yrs old now. And I side with you on the MMC suiting your needs. I previously had the AIW 128 and that was a good TV card several years ago.

Again thanks for the links.

For $100 I don't think you're going to get anything better than your current card if you want it to have Tuner onboard.

Why not just get a separate tuner card and keep your current video card? You can get one of the best on the market for $100, not some half assed outdated agp card with a lame tuner onboard.

Hey now... haha yes the EVGA card uses a Geforce MX440 so what? if it's not being used for games I don't see a reason to have the latest fancy gaming chipset. And it has a philips tuner.... nvidia's pretty good competitor package to ATI's setup, although I will admit not as good as ATI but for the price... dvi and a tuner.

Basically comes down to what you want, tuner on board or seperate, on that card you spend more for a less fancy card.
