Hey brothers! Just like the title says, I'm looking for some feedback as to what the best solution might be for a crisp as possible TV out option might be for a video card. I've tried a few different video cards and none seem to be what I'm after. Are all TV outs basically the same quality? I won't be gaming but rather I'm using the TV out for powerpoint presentations on a regular TV. Any suggestions and personal experience will be mucho appreciated...

If you are using a regular TV as a display device, you won't be able to tell the difference between the best and the worst quality output from a video card :)

Your problem isn't your choice of video cards, but your choice of output display. For crispness, you'll need to ditch the TV and use an LCD projector.

Good luck!

Exactly. Make sure you don't pick up any cheap video card either. I've seen people using some old cheap video card and people with a newer card GF4 or something which is more than enough for presentations. Anyway, upto a certain point it makes a difference because the older cards don't handle the slide transitions very well. Getting a 7500 or Geforce 2 card or better would be reccomended by me.

Geforce 3/4 cards with the Conexent CX25871 or Philips SAA7104E have about the best TV out you can get. The chipset WILL make a difference up to a point, but any will be a far cry from VGA quality.

The TVout on my MSI GF4 MX440 is terrible. My laptop with a S3 Savage IX is far better. I posted a thread similar to this last week in the video forum and the conclusion was Radeon 7500 for cheapest or another higher radeon card for better gaming performance.

But avoid the Radeon 8500/9100. There is a huge thread at rage3d.com as to why.

my geforce4mx420 is perfect though it was bought way back when they cost 100ish dollars so I can see the idea that they are using lower quality tv outs onthe ones that cost 29.99 AR

as for actual quality its gonna be real blurry if you actually want people to read that powerpoint

Make sure you use S-Video cables as opposed to RCA. You will get a much clearer and vibrant picture.
