Best video card for under $100?

I'm thinking of buying a ATI 9600 video card with 256 MB of RAM for $88 from the Egg. Is there anything better for under $100?

If used cards are an option, that should get you a 9500Pro from the forums.

What will you do with the card? How long do you tend to keep cards?

A used or hunted down GeForce 4 is probably the best on the NVidia side.

Actually this card is for a friend of mine. The card will be used for a lot of gaming at 800 x 600, and mostly older games.

I've also offered him my own MSI GF4-Ti4200 (64 MB) for $35, which i think is his best option. I'm not sure he's convinced of that, though.

Myself, I want to upgrade to an AGP 6600GT, when the prices drop below $200.

I noticed that some 9600 cards are 64-bit, and some are 128-bit. Do they cripple the 128-bit cards or something? The price difference is tiny between the 64-bit and 128-bit cards.
