Best Video card for this scenario?

I currently have a P3 1GHz Rig and will move to a P4 someday (next 4 months). I can't afford the entire upgrade (MB i845, CASE Antec SX1040, CPU 1.8GHz & Video ?) at once so I thought it would be best to get a video card now and then a the case. This will offset the entire purchase. Well I truly only play UT and demo some other games from PC Gamer & Maximum PC. I don't care if the FPS is low on my demos, but my 3dfx cards have been good to me with UT. I read that only the 3dfx Voodoo4 boards have dual voltage and will work in a P4 motherboard. Also, the performance is still good in UT, but it's an unsupported board.

With all this in mind what video card do you think I should get?

A. Voodoo4 4500?
B. Geforce2 MX400?
C. KyroII?
D.???

Well I'm a big fan of the Radeon LE. Awsome card for the price, especialy once you tweak it. Don't get the Voodoo 4 or Geforce 2 MX. They Kyro II and Radeon LE are MUCH faster.

Are they faster in UT or ?

I'll say this since you mention UT specifically. My exp is 32 meg Radeon cards (LE included) have serious slowdowns in UT. 64 meg Radeons don't have this problem at all. In fact, the 64 meg cards are smooth as glass. I was pretty shocked at how much the two differ.

As an aside, P4 is cool, but don't go for the 845 chipset. It kills the P4's performance.

If you are considering a V4, why not the V5 then, it is less than $120 on pricewatch. It will give you gobs more performance and image quality, I suggest this because it will play Unreal like no other. Can I politely ask why a P4 instead of Athlon 1.4GHz? It is alot cheaper and benchmarks for Unreal are heavily favored by the AMD cpu. Maybe you could take the money you saved and get a Geforce Pro, Ultra or Geforce 3.

Kyro 2 is your best choice for UT, also, I believe the Voodoo4 may be incompatible with P4.
