Best video card for my price range?

I've been looking at an Asus EAX1950 Pro PCI-E video card with 256mb of RAM. It's $229 CAN at a local store (about $200 US). Is there any card that would be better at this price range?

If you want brand new only, then that card will probably give the best bang for the buck at that price range.

That card is very nice, but if you can afford to spend a little more I'd suggest an X1950XT instead because its quite a bit faster & can be had for $249 US ... bear in mind however its also a bit louder & has a cooling solution that takes up two slots, unlike most Pro's.

I have to admit that the Radeon X1900XT 256MB is a most awesome card and is faster than 1 of my 512MB GeForce 7950GT's but the importance of a 512MB frame buffer will come to light next year. Buy a Radeon with 512MB of GDDR3/4 on it. You'll be glad you did very soon!
