Best video card for avoiding driver issues with Windows Server?

Putting together a build for my dad who wants to run virtual labs. CPU is a Haswell-E, so the motherboard so is an LG 2011-v3 X99 chipset. What's the current best (as in reliable and less driver worries) low power video card to get today?

Generically speaking, onboard if available works fine with servers, or you could get a low end card from either AMD or Nvidia and be fine. You arent going to find anything that is clearly more reliable, you are going off cost and possibly fan boyism if you have a preference.

Does the server itself need 3D capabilities? I would probably get something like this:
