Best video card for about 100?

Im in need of the best bang for the buck video card for gaming and internet surfing.


Price range about 100

If you don't mind used, there is a guy in the for sale forum offering a few Ti4600's for $85.
There is also a thread in the hot deals forum describing new 9600 Pros in 9600 SE boxes for $129 or so.

I recommend the GF4 Ti4200, a good example is the 128mb MSI 8x version which has very efficent quiet cooling.

Here's a refurbished Gainward "Golden Sample" (= very overclockable!) Ti4200 128MB for $97 at Newegg:

I think this particular card is priced a little high right now, even with it being a Golden Sample, and as it's one of the last cards left from the most recent batch of refurbs, I'm guessing it'll probably drop ($85?) pretty soon. If you're interested it might be worth it to keep an eye on it for a day or so to see if they mark it down. If somebody else gets it, marked down or not, no big deal: another batch of refurbs is always on the way!
