I know this gets asked a lot, so I apologize for being repetitive, but I searched and couldn't find anything.

I need a new video card (assume I have a TNT 16MB card) and I'm willing to spend $160. What's the best card I can get for something near that price point?

Assuming you're a gamer, I'd say go for the 9600XT....or the FX5600 Ultra if you're an nvidia fan.

spend an extra $15 and get a 9700 Pro off the forums for $175. Those cards are way better than anything in its price range :)

Trust me, its worth it

9600XT...I think (IIRC) the 5600U is only about as fast as the 4200 that can be had for like ~$60 used.

I think newegg has a 5900SE for like 180 is should be able to clock up to 5900 U no gaurentees though. If you don't want to spend that much 9600 XT should be great!!!
This one for 188 comes with the game call of duty and I think ghost recon VGA 5900SE

Asylum 5700 Ultra on sale at Comp USA for 149 Dollars after rebate. It's the Nvidia equivalent to the 9600XT.
