Not a rabid overclocker, but looking to buy the Radeon 7870 for a new build. (CPU I 5 3570k). Asus z mobo with Asus Radeon a thought, due to possibility of an easy overclock of the card. However, oc is not my primary concern, so would like advice on any other brands that might be better...or are they all about the same...no Sapphires, please.

ASUS, MSI, Sapphire have good reputations. I've heard mixed things about Gigabyte depending on the card in question, so I'd look closely into reviews of the particular model you're interested in. HIS is usually cheap but they appear to be trying to get into the premium sector with their IceQ Turbo cooler design. Powercolor too seems to be trying to go more premium even though they still sell cheap stuff. If you want reference-only then Visiontek has a decent rep. XFX used to be good but went way cheap and discarded their double lifetime warranties; you can't even get single-lifetime warranties on their products anymore without paying extra.

After some research, I decided on the MSI Hawk, as suggested by Greenhell6.

Thanks for the help, all.
