hi,
between October this year and December, i will be upgrading my video card. by that time i should have about £400 to spend on it. What is the absolute best video card that i could get at that time of the year?.
here are the possible cards that im thinkin of.

1) 256mb Matrox Parhelia.(if it overclocks well)
2) ATi Radeon 9700
3) the new nVidia card that superceeds the GF4.

I currently own a GF3Ti200+XP1800+768mb Memory

thanx in advance all

;) It is impossible to say, even the Rad9700 isn't in shops yet and hasn't undergone independent testing/benchmarking. It certainly seems a world apart from a GF4TI4600 though, 50% faster and even more when enabling AA and Aniso! The new nVidia card should be even faster (they won't release it until they can beat it) and is due out Nov, so really you'll be waiting until early 2003 before any info is concrete and the reviews and availability is there, until then wait happily as your XP1800+ and GF3 still offer excellent and very playable results. As for the Parhelia, it would have to run at 600/1200 (yes double) to stand a chance against the Rad9700, only worth considering if you need the absolute top in '2D' image quality or 3 monitor support.
