So my wife needs a new phone and we can get our new every two $100 credit. I'll probably go ahead and get one also.

I was looking at the phones yesterday and was thinking about either the LG vx8600 and the Moto krzr k1m. (POSSIBLY the chocolate, too, but I"m not sure about it)
the chocolate would be free, but the k1m and 8600 would be $100 after the credit.

Anyone have any advice on which of these is the best choice? also, any other phones to consider?

I'd like to be able to use my own mp3 ringtones like I currently do on my e815 also if possible.

I voted for the Chocolate. Looks cool, has a nice clear screen, and is free in your case.

i have the vx8600, and i like it alot. It feels sturdy and well built, and the signal is much better then my old phone, i have never had any signal problems with it anywhere i have gone, and where i live is basically a black hole of cell phone signal so it pretty amazing to have as much signal as i do. i do think the chocolate would be nice as well, but i personally like flip phones so i would not get it. but feature wise, and looks wise i like it alot.

My sister has the K1M. She mentioned something the other day about how she has to keep removing the battery and cleaning off the contacts to get it to work.

I've had good luck with VZW's LG phones personally. I like the way the 8300 looks and that will probably be my next phone. I haven't seen the 8600 in person so I can't comment on it. I prefer a flip phone over a candy bar style.

HowardForums will give you a good idea as to the hackability of each phone. LG has always been good in that regard.

I have a RAZR from Verizon and my wife has a KRZR. Both are great phones, but the battery life on my wife's KRZR is unbelievably good. That's what I would recommend.
