Hey all,

Turning 30 in Dec. Only been to vegas once, stayed at the Nugget. We want to stay on the strip, in the middle of everything.

We want a nice hotel with modern rooms. It's me and a buddy and our g/f's.

Any advice or recommendations?

We're going during the week, so rates are cheaper.

UPDATE:

We're staying at Mandalay Bay, in this suite (gonna be two couples)

They had buy 3, get last night free, so it worked out well.

Can't wait! WOOT!

I made a reservation for a friend's 30th bday party in December at Caesar's Palace. It was $392 for the weekend which is a pretty damn good deal considering what other hotels were offering.

MGM skyloft, rates can be decent during the week and if you have a AMEX Plat/Centurian you can get upgraded to the 2bdrm lofts

I forget the other FHR benefits, but I know you also get 15% off the rate

I heard the Venetian is under going construction in some parts of the hotel. So you'll hear hammering at 7-8 in the morning.

another vote for Caesar's. If you're going to go to Vegas, it might as well be in a ridiculously overdone hotel. It's not terribly expensive either.

Stay at the Bellagio. It's beautiful. May be a bit pricey but if you're going during the week you may as well check prices. You only turn 30 once. ;)

Without worrying about price, and to be in the middle of it all, i'd say Bellagio, Caesars or MGM.

If you are going to party, then I would say The Palms... Its got the biggest 25-35 crowd...

If you are more interested in staying on the strip though, I would go with Bellagio or Venetian...

The Bellagio is the best hotel on the strip.
For fun and partying, the Palms & Hard Rock are the best, although they are not on the strip.

I would have suggested the Venetian...but if it is under construction like a previous poster said...i wouldn't go there.

I wouldn't consider that right in the middle of everything. It's set way back from the strip (while still considered on the strip) and it's a little further down LV Blvd IMO.

I was there probably a month ago and if there was construction, I never noticed it. I've stayed in quite a few Vegas hotels, and I must say this is one of the best.

Don't forget the Twenty Dollar Trick when you check in.

didn't work very well for me.

Maybe I'll be more specific next time.

I stayed at the MGM Grand (standard room) when I went back in 2005. It was very nice, clean, and had awesome pool facilities. It also has a few good restaurants that you may want to check out.

Maybe a different hotel its the 100 dollar trick lol. In vegas money talks and it can talk VERY loud.

My hotel of choice back in my mega travel to vegas days was Mandalay Bay. Its been many years since going but im sure its still nice. Wynn's new place cant be bad he never does anything shitty when it comes to hotels.

Ceasers is a good hotel but I would definitely choose the Wynn, excellent hotel with beautiful rooms, get the Resort Room
