Best values for converting MP3s to WAVs?

I'm converting some MP3 files (mostly at 128kbps) into WAV format to use in a video editing project. What's the best quality match to export the MP3 files to WAV in? My options are as follows:

Frequency: 6000 - 48000
Bits: 8, 16, 24, 32
Channels: Stereo, Mono

Obviously I'd set the channels to Stereo, but I'm lost on the others. If I max all the vales out, a 4mb MP3 turns into an 80mb WAV pretty quickly. It's not a big deal, because my machine dumps it out in under a minute, but I'd just like to get matching values in. Suggestions?

can't you just import the mp3s into the video editing software? i know adobe premiere allows you to import mp3s and then when all the video/audio encoding is done, it just converts the mp3 then along with the video to whatever output you want the video to be in.

According to the CDex Help file, standard WAV file settings are 44100 Hz, 16 bit, stereo.

Yes, but there is a known bug in Windows Movie Maker 2 that makes the audio skip when you compile the video for output if you use an MP3 file. The workaround is to convert the MP3 into another format, such as WAV, before compiling the video. This is why I'm buying a Mac for video editing lol.

Yeah Nero had the same defaults.

ok, i see, but don't buy a mac for video editing, just get a better program than windows movie maker 2. adobe premiere, something from the avid line, no need to go mac...
