Best value wireless card option for laptop - PMCIA or WiFi?

I just got a new desknote and need a wireless card. The laptop has a port for PMCIA cards, but I head a external usb wireless adapter (802.11g) is better and cheaper. I wanna go with the better and cheaper option, as long as that external adapter isn't too big. Thanks.

Think, would you rather use up a USB port or a PCMCIA slot?

You should check to see if the laptop has a miniPCI slot and built-in antenna wires. If so, then you won't have to use either USB or PCMCIA.
