i was going to buy a Corsair PSU 550w from buy.com for 60 but the price went up so whats something thats around that performance/pricerange.

That will very based on where you live and what retailers you have available. Places have great deals on top quality PSUs at very different times from each other unless its a manufactures MIR. Just take some time and do the research for yourself. There are a good number of top quality PSUs and the prices can be all over the place depending on where you look and what deals they have going. So have a look araound and see what you can find for the known good brands.
