Best value IPS monitor in the 23-24" range?

Basically it's in the subject, but I also want HDMI, maybe some USB ports and sound routing (from HDMI) would be nice, too.

Most likely a dell or hp s-ips depending on coupons available at the time of purchase. Obviously, 1920*1080 screens will be cheaper than 1920*1200 screens.

The Dell U2410 keeps cropping up in my searches, but it's a little pricier than I wanted, but I only buy monitors once every 5 years or so, so maybe I should just do it?

Do it man. Your monitor will outlive your system most likely. I just got the 30" Dell and like it so far; I'm sure their 24" version is high quality too.

got the dell 2410 ultra a couple months ago. has everything you're looking for. very nice monitor. it replaced my 20.5 inch ultra.

Hmm, thanks guys. Food for thought, for sure.

STOp,... you seem like you have money.... then buy a wfp3007.. it's worth it.. and you won't even have to buy another one in 5 years... TRUST ME.. it's fucking awesome..... :awe::awe::awe::awe::awe::awe:

Awesome.......

and waking up each morning to my 3007wfp is like waking up with angelina jolie on my left, and salma hayek on my right.

It's really that awesome.....

sounds like the above poster doesn't value jolie + hayek very highly...

s-ips will probably net you the best value, I got my 22" for about $225 last year. just looked up the ZR24w, amazon has it at US $380, probably closer to $300 at more reasonable sites and with sales. If I were buying today I'd probably get that one.

Dell has their 23" Ultrasharp go on sale every now and then for <$240. While it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the U2410, for approximately half the price it's a hell of a deal.

^^ this. also on dell outlet for ~$250 consistently, and I've seen two from there in flawless as-new condition.

I pretty much settled on the 23" Ultrasharp. It's IPS and I can use an HDMI to DisplayPort adapter to connect a PS3.

If you intend to stare at that screen for the next 5 years, just make sure you will be happy with the 16:9 aspect ratio. Seems fine at first for games and movies, but the shorter height will eventually start to get annoying if you do any work on the computer. This is why most IPS panels come in 16:10.

The Dell and the HP look pretty much the same on paper:
8bit panel
100% sRGB and 100% AdobeRGB color space (wide gamut)
no internal programmable LUT

My current twin monitor setup is just two 17" LCDs @ 1280x1024, so I'll be gaining 56 pixels in height...!

Hi,

What's the latest revision of Dell U2410 and what improvements adds beside A01 ?
Can someone post a photo from U2410 hidden menu ?

Thanks
